Your concern about practicality and implementation makes a lot of sense to me. It jives with what I understand about CDMP being focused on Data Strategy. That’s why this certification seems to be in demand for high-end leadership positions.
It’s probably not the best place to start for someone looking into entry level roles.
That said, I believe strongly that data scientists should be empowered “data consumers.” I think end-to-end awareness of the data lifecycle can help you show up as a leader in your organization, helping to steer toward data management best practices.
